SHE WAS BORN ON JULY 31, 1965 IN THE FOREST OF DEAN. SHE HAD A MOM, A DAD, AND 2 SISTERS. FIRST SHE WENT TO TUTSHILL PRIMARY. THEN SHE WENT TO COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL. SHE STARTED HER FIRST STORY AT THE AGE OF 6. SHE WORTE ABOUT HARRY POTTER. SHE HAD A DAUGHTER. SHE MADE MORE PEOPLE LIKE BOOKS.

Richard Nixon

Born in 1913 and died in the early 2000.
When he was nine he moved from Yorba Linda, California to Whittier, California.
He was a hard worker and nice. When he was twelve he told everyone he wanted to be a lawyer. He went to Whittier High School and Whittier College. The he went to Duke University law school. His wife's name was Pat and they were married in 1940.
He was a vice president and president.

BEN FRANKLIN

Ben Franklin was born on January17. Ben Franklin had sixteen brothers and sisters. In his early life Ben Franklin worked in is father’s candle shop. Ben Franklin helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris and he was the American representative to France. Ben discovered lightning as a form of electricity. He helped people have lights.

Charles Lindbergh

Charles Lindbergh was born Feb 4, 1902. His nickname was Lucky Lindy. He became a pilot and flew the mail to and from St. Louis. He married and had 6 children.

May 20, 1927 he started to fly from New York to Paris. He had to fly through a storm but he arrived in Paris. He was the first person to fly alone across the Atlantic. He died August 26, 1974.

Charles Schulz

Schulz began to draw in school. In 1947 he drew comics for a newspaper. The comics strip was called Peanuts. Schulz won many awards. He was married and had 5 children.

Derek Jeter

Derek Jeter was born in 1974. When he was a child he live in Michigan. He was his high school’s baseball player of the year. He played professionally for the Yankees. He helped the Yankees win the World Series. Derek is a nice person because he visits kids who are sick. He now lives in Florida.

Dr.Seuss

Dr. Seuss was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Dr.Seusses’ father’s name was Theodor Robert Geisel. His mother’s name was Henriett Seuss. In his early life his mom often took him to the zoo. Dr.Seuss wrote children books like The Cat In The Hat and The Grinch. Dr.Seuss recorded soldiers in World War, 2 and made a movie. He wrote children’s books all around the world for children of all ages. Dr.Seuss made movies and TV shows for children. He became sick and died September 24, 1991. Children and adults enjoy his books.

Will Mayo and Charles Mayo

There family was mom and dad and sisters. During there adult life they were doctors.
Will was born in 1861 and Charles was born in 1865. Their father was a doctor. He taught them to help people. Will and Charles both became doctors. They shared everything. They lived in Rochester Minnesota and started a hospital. They used the newest medical information to help sick people.
Will Mayo and Charles Mayo died in 1939.

MARK MCGWIRE

He had a wife. He loved to play baseball when he was a kid.
He was a player for the Cardinals and Oakland.
He hit 70 home runs.
Because of his home runs more people watched baseball.

Claude Monet

Claude Monet was born in Paris, France, in 1840. His Father owned a grocery store. When he was a little boy he mostly spent his time drawing funny pictures of people. He went to 3dr grade. After a while an artist convinced him to try painting. He helped invent a style of painting called impressionism. He gave people beautiful art work. He lived until he was 92. He died in Giverny, France in 1926.

DOLLY MADISON

Dolly lived on a plantation in Virginia. Then her family moved to Philadelphia. Dolly married a lawyer named John Todd and had two sons. John and the baby boy died of yellow fever. Dolly then married James Madison. In 1809 Dolly became the first lady because James Madison was president. She now had a lot of money. After President Madison died she didn’t have much money, but everyone loved her. In 1849 she died.

Christa McAuliffe

She was born on September 2, 1948 in Framingham. Her parent’s names are Edward and Grace. Christa was the oldest of 5 children. She got married and had 2 children. She went to a state college and got a degree. She became a teacher. She was selected to go to space and be the first teacher in space. But she wasn’t the first teacher in space because when they launched the space shuttle it exploded. She died on January 28, 1986. Now girls can be astronauts too.

E.B White was born July 11,1899. He had 5 brothers and sisters. He went to high school and college. In college he worked for the student newspaper He worked at different jobs but he still wanted to be a writer. He first wrote magazine books for adults then for children. His most famous book is Charlottes Web. He married in 1929 in New York and died October 1 1985 in Maine.

LAURA INGELLS WILDER

Laura Ingells Wilder was born in 1867. She had two sisters their names were Marry and Carrie. Her pa played the fettle. She moved a lot. Later she married and had two children.
One was a girl and one was a boy the boy died. When her daughter grow up she told her
Mom “you should make books about your childhood.” So she did. She wrote many books about her childhood. When she was done writing she lived a few more years. In 1957
She died. All I have to say “SHE REALLY LIVED!”

Mark McGwire

Early life he liked to play baseball when he was a kid. In his adult life he was a baseball player for the Oakland athletic and the Cardinals. McGuire’s major
Accomplishment was he hit the most home runs of any baseball player. Many people came to see him hit home runs.

Vincent Van Gogh

Van Gogh was born in Holland in 1853. His dad was preacher. His brother Theo was an artist. Van Gogh went to different art schools. In Van Gogh’s early life he was an art dealer, teacher, preacher, and bookseller. In his adult life he was an artist. He moved to Paris. Then he moved to Arles. He painted The Starry Night 1889. Van Gogh’s feelings came out of all his paintings. Van Gogh influenced art by making his paintings move and he used thick paint. Van Gogh died in France 1890.

Martha Berry

Martha Berry was born in Rome Georgia on October 7, 1866. She had three sisters, two brothers, a mother and a father. In her early life she lived in a house called Oak Hill. She wanted a cabin of her own so her dad built her one. She went to a boarding school and she didn’t like it there so she dropped out. During her adult life Martha Berry opened schools, but she didn’t have enough money for furniture so she traveled around the world to earn money from the government. Her major accomplishments were opening schools for the boys and girls. Martha Berry changed the world with education. She died in 1942, New York.

Margaret Knight

Margaret’s birthday was 1838. When she was six her father died. She did not go to college because she was poor. Her family is a sewing family. She made a sewing machine to keep everyone safe.

Helen Keller

Helen Keller was born in 1880 in Alabama as an only child. At the age of 19 months, Helen had a terrible fever. When Helen was finally cured, her parents found out that Helen was blind and deaf. When Helen was seven years old, her parents found out that a woman named Ann Sullivan could help Helen. Ann taught Helen how to do many things. Helen grew up and went to Radcliffe College. In her adult life, Helen helped the people who were blind and deaf just like her and taught them to think they could do things other people could do. Helen kept going helping the blind and deaf until her deaf in 1968.

Harriett Tubmen

Harriett Tubmen was born in the early 1820's in Maryland. She was a slave. Harriett stared working at the age of six. She had no education. When Harriett was an adult, she escaped to Philadelphia. After that, she worked in the Underground Railroad. She helped many other slaves escaped. She helped black people become free from slavery. She died in 1913.

This blog has been created by third graders at MPS, a primary school in the midwest. The assignment required students to choose a book about a famous person (help from the librarian), use a graphic organizer to organizer their facts about their famous person (homeroom teacher), and then transfer these facts to this blog (technology specialist and homeroom teacher).
